This exciting, authentically written work is a tribute to cultural unity using four contrasting Afro-Cuban styles seamlessly connected: guaguanco, son montuno, bolero, and Afro-Cuban 6/8. It was adapted for big band from Michele's wind symphony which premiered at the 2023 CBDNA conference. This jazz suite adaptation was premiered by UNT One O'Clock Lab Band in 2023. Minimum percussion requirements include drum set, congas, and auxiliary percussion. (The auxiliary percussion part can be covered by an extra wind player.) All rhythm section parts are fully notated.
