Written in tribute to and inspired by the compositional style of Donald E. Allured, this original piece uses a three-note motive of D, E, and A (Allured’s initials). It includes four sections:
Abounding in moving eighth notes, the fifty-five measures fly by. The touch of syncopated charm is added to a piece which is a must in the repertoire of all five-octave choirs.
This piece is a challenging and engaging arrangement of Bach's well-known Fugue in C minor, BWV 549. The word "fugue" means "flight" in Latin, a fitting description for this theme that takes flight
