Originally a lute song, this work is inspired by the galliard, a popular dance throughout Europe during the time of Elizabeth I. The text speaks of and celebrates the many virtues and charms of Laura with the music having all the charm of an accompanied madrigal. Quick and sprightly, this is excellent literature for any young treble ensemble.
