Publisher Desc.  Triptych was written at the request of Brynn Albanese, formerly of the Boston Symphony and now Concert Master of the San Luis Obispo Symphony. The piece is in three parts, fast-slow-fast, and draws upon the composersa familiarity with jazz and popular music styles as well as classical forms. The first part is a jazz waltz. Part two reflects the themes of the first section but in a slower, pop ballad style. Part three calls upon ethnic European three-meter dance forms such as the polonaise and waltz while at the same time highlighting gypsy dance styles.
