Trees
A cappella
Publisher Desc.
"Mighty tree tow'ring over me, give me air, so we humans can dare to
achieve the reality in which we believe. The pages of a book and a wooden
nook. Taken against our will to the paper mill. Cut down for your comfort and
ease, do you hear the animals pleas? The forest will fight back, fire the
attack. Resources you will lack. Barren and dry land by your own hand. If a
tree is cut down, will it make a sound? One that most will not hear, but it
will be felt in the coming years." This piece was inspired by stories
about how even more land is needed for agriculture and more trees are being
cut down for human production. Our present actions will have long-lasting
impact. This SATB a cappella piece will be a powerful piece that will make a
statement in your secular program, and can work with ensembles that are
advanced high school and above
