A beautiful piece from the American Romantic Choral Series. Parker's settings of American poetry demonstrate his programmatic skills, reminiscent of similar works by Mendelssohn and Schubert. This piece, in 6/8 meter, also has the lilting feel of a sea shanty and will make for an enjoyable concert experience.
