This programmatic work is inspired by the vivid descriptions found in the writings of Scottish-American naturalist, John Muir. Melodic and lyrical, tender yet dynamic, the work is filled with expression and nuance. Handbells, handchimes and piano work together beautifully to convey the power yet tenderness of the music. The piano is integral to the expression and adds texture and tone so the 'sound' of thunder, lightning, and storms is apparent. This amazing concert work will deeply inspire all who hear it.
