The Impresario Overture
Publisher Desc.
This is an arrangement of the overture to Mozart's comic opera "The Impresario." It is very close to the original, and it is designed for a more advanced orchestra that wishes to delve into the nuances of Mozart's exquisite music. Mozart described it as "comedy with music" and wrote it as his entry in a musical competition. It was given a private performance on February 7, 1786 by Joseph II at the Schonbrunn Palace in Vienna, Austria.
