The Ice Is Listening
Setting vivid poems by Kate Wakeling, this three-movement work is a powerful exploration of the theme of ice through the lens of climate change. Not specifically written to be a winter work, it can be performed year-round with the reminder that ice is a precious resource, something to treasure and to hope we never lose. The work features a soprano soloist along with divisi mixed choir with piano or chamber orchestra accompaniment. Movements: Solid Waters; The Ice Is Listening; Moulin.
