Publisher Desc.  Taxi, Taxi has a unique history! I was teaching a 3-year old class some of my fun childrens songs at a pre-school in the Washington, DC area in the early 2000s when I noticed that out of our beautiful, clear glass picture window that a bright yellow taxi pulled into the driveway In the front of the school. I immediately realized that most all these very young children probably had no idea of what a taxi was! I gathered all the children to look out the window at the taxi! The kids were excited to see a mother and her child leave the taxi and walk towards the front door of the preschool. I talked with the children about how people whose car was broken, or people who did not have a car called for a special car called a taxi to pick them up at their homes and take them to school, work, to the grocery store, or other places where they needed or wanted to go. I stressed to the students That the person riding in the taxi thanked and then paid the taxi driver for taking them to the place that they needed or wanted to go to.
