Suite Gothique
The first two movements of this well-known organ suite have been arranged for handbells and handchimes. The Chorale is chordal, stately, and a bit austere. It is followed by the dance-like Minuet - celebratory, graceful, and somewhat playful. Handchimes (3-5 octaves) are interspersed giving variety to the sound in both pieces, and nicely placed marts, mart lifts, and thumb damps add to the joyful feel. The option to move directly from the Chorale to the Minuet is offered – or each work may stand alone.
