I wrote String Quartet No. 1during the spring of 2011. The work consists of four separate movements. There's a quarter-tone four-note theme which sounds in all movements except the second, which is a kind of intermezzo. String Quartet No. 1 received first prize from the 1st National Competition for Young Composers in 2012 (Yerevan, Armenia).
