The Grade 2 Level of the Music Expressions(TM) classroom curriculum lets your students get their first experience with using their own textbooks to use in class!  Throughout the Grade 2 "Teacher Edition" you'll find ways to use the student books to focus your class's increasing attention span on the concepts at hand.  But, true to this age level, the need for stimulating activity interspersed in the lesson is there, and addressed well in the lesson plans.  Emphasis is on visual learning, with plenty of art images incorporated into the books, but song lyrics and text are offered for students who may be at a more advanced reading level. Concepts covered in the Grade 2 level include:  listening and echoing; long and short notes; steady beat; tone color; meet the artists; patterns using hand symbols and pitch syllables; meter sets of two and three; early composition skills; Hispanic heritage; melodic patterns using steps and skips and much more.
