Keyboard Treasury
Supplement your students' method books through the years with this thoughtfully produced series of hymns for piano solo that progresses from the pre-reading to early-advanced level. Each volume covers about one year of instruction. Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter arrangements appear in appropriate locations in each volume. The arranger, Peter Davis, even includes a portion of the text with each piano solo. Volume 1 begins with short, simple hymns using pre-staff notation. It shows hand position charts for all songs, includes simple duet parts, interesting anecdotes about the songs, and progresses to the late elementary level (dotted rhythms, simple hands-together playing, and occasional double notes). Volume 2, at the early intermediate level, begins with basic five-finger positions; gradually increases hand shifts; uses only keys of C, F, and G; and offers optional pedal markings. Volume 3 is at the early intermediate to intermediate level and introduces key changes within pieces, but it's almost entirely in C, F, and G. Volume 4 is at the intermediate level and utilizes the keys of C, G, F, Bb and D. Volume 5 is at the late intermediate level. It introduces a piano solo in Eb Major. Volume 6 is at the early advanced level.
