"Hijinx" opens with a short, spirited fanfare. It is a rousing piece for soprano saxophone and symphonic band.  Aside from the fanfare, "Hijinx" features a groovy dance, a serenely mysterious cadenza, and closes with a jam session and a thrilling coda.
