Grover's Corners
Composed in 1940 for the screen version of Thornton Wilder's play "Our Town," Copland used a clean yet distinctive harmonic palette and calming style for the soundtrack to portray pre-World War II homespun values and sense of security. This carefully adapted version uses short soloistic passages mixed with lyric moments for the full ensemble, creating a tender and rewarding setting. Duration: 2:30 (Grade 3)
