Neil Harmon's adaptation of an 1875 text is surprisingly relevant, due to its simple structure. First, it names a situation in which we all find ourselves from time to time, then asks, "Did you think to pray?" The text of this unaccompanied setting fits wonderfully to the Appalachian folk melody Wayfaring Stranger, and the combination is compelling.
