Dawn, Still Darkness
Extracted from "Flight," the original modern-day operatic comedy with libretto by April de Angelis, this aria for countertenor also known as the Refugee's Aria tells of a refugee's longing to be reunited with his brother. The opera tells the story of a refugee who lives in an airport, inspired by the true-life story of an Iranian refugee who lived at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris for 18 years, and the dramas that unfold around characters who find themselves delayed in the terminal.
