Based on the book by Rupert Holmes, this dynamic murder-mystery musical has been adapted for young actors and audiences. It's the brassy, bright and promising year of 1959 and Boston's Colonial Theatre is host to the opening night performance of a new musical. When the leading lady mysteriously dies on stage, the entire cast and crew are suspects. Enter a local detective, who just happens to be a musical theater fan, and hilarity ensues! This adaptation features some song key edits, adapted for younger voices where needed, and songs and scenes that have been edited for time and content while keeping the spirit of the Broadway show intact. There are memorable leading parts, and an outstanding ensemble/chorus is featured throughout the show, making this an ideal choice for casts of any size.
