Jascha Gurewich (1896-1938) /arr. arranged by Daniel Powers - Imperfect Consonance

Concerto for alto saxophone and orchestra, op. 102

Jascha Gurewich (1896-1938) /arr. arranged by Daniel Powers - Imperfect Consonance
Publisher Desc.  Jascha Gurewich introduced his Saxophone Concerto in 1923, in a much-publicized and well-received concert in New York, accompanied by his wife Ida on piano. Despite being titled a "concerto," there is no indication that the piece was ever orchestrated. This orchestration by Daniel Powers dates from 2022, shortly after the concerto entered the public domain. It was preceded by a version for saxophone and wind orchestra in 2021. Instrumentation of the orchestra version: 2(p).2.2+bcl.2. / 4.2.3.1. / T+3 / harp / strings
