Concertino for Guitar and Strings

Excier J. Rodriguez - LyreMusicWorks.com
Publisher Desc.  Charming small concerto for classical guitar and strings. The first movement, "Canzonetta," presents in its slow tempo stylistic elements similar to those of famous Spanish concerto composers like Joaquan Rodrigo and Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, but in an abbreviated form. The second movement, "Mangulina," is based on a popular dance form developed between the 1930 - 1960's in the Caribbean islands. Its brisk tempo with syncopation in triple patterns is reminiscent of the Canarios of Gaspar Sanz. This Concertino can be performed by mid-level orchestras and a mid to advance level soloist. Ideal for talented high school and early college level students.
