Children's March
Children's March is a well-known march by Percy Grainger, which was originally for piano, but his scoring for wind band is the most popular. A simple tune, first presented by the bass clarinet, is expanded upon and subjected to all the harmonic and rhythmic quirks Grainger is known for. The subtle humor presented in this piece is always a favorite with the audience. Optional percussion parts can be used for some extra color. Scored for E-flat clarinet, five B-flat clarinets, alto clarinet/basset horn/clarinet 6, bass clarinet and contrabass clarinet/contralto/string bass.
