Calling Winds

Gabriel De Guzman - Gabriel De Guzman
Publisher Desc.  Calling Winds is a piece about the flow of nature's wind. While the naked eye cannot perceive wind, the wind still makes its presence. Wind is often used for travel and movement and is only heard when the wind is blowing. I felt that the calm melody with a driving harmony represents the always traveling wind, guiding us along. The restatement of melodies throughout the piece is symbolic of a horn call, one that would be familiar to those who knew the call. The freedom of the wind calls for us to always move forward. Calling Winds was premeired on February 12th, 2022 and is dedicated to the Vista Murrieta Band Program and the Performers.
