Publisher Desc.  A "First Book" for cello, which presents the concepts, with photos, for the physical setup of the instrument, posture, and bow. Included are setup exercises in a musical setting, possibly for performance, to reinforce the basics. There are also many choices of melodies, with optional duets, to reinforce the basics at a Suzuki pre-Minuet 1 level. The approach represents the insights of Paul Roland and his work with shapes and motions, building a solid technical foundation for future skill development. The Blue Book of Tunes may be used in a mixed string ensemble setting. The keys and harmonies are coordinated, in some cases using alternate keys which favor the viola and cello, with the possibility of harmony for the violins. The Piano Accompaniment Book may be used for piano, bass, or guitar.
