Publisher Desc.  This hymn was written in four parts for voice and piano. It had significant popularity and influence during the civil war. Solo trumpet introduces this piece with "Call to Arms." The first verse is played by woodwinds. Two short brass fanfares introduce the next two verses with the piccolo playing a counter part to the melody line. Last verse is to be played majestically and forte. Care should be taken that the counter melody never overpowers the melody.
