Vogt composed many concertos and fantasies on opera arias for oboe and orchestra, many of which were also published with piano reductions. He also composed a chamber music for his instrument. One of the most popular of these works is the Andante Religioso for Two Oboes and English Hom. In preparing this new edition, many decisions were made in order to reconcile differences between the printed score and the individual parts. This is a charming work which deserves more frequent performances and wider recognition.
