Publisher Desc.  Composed in parts throughout 2009, 3 Character Pieces was commissioned by hornist, Anne Marie Cherry who was interested in a new brass chamber work to perform in recital. The work contains challenging passages for all three performers, though horn is most often highlighted. Although each movement, or character piece, is unrelated, the melodic, harmonic, and rhythmic fragments developed throughout solidify the larger work. The piece was premiered on March 5th, 2010 at Jessen Auditorium in Austin, TX.
