Funeral March of a Marionet
Publisher Desc.
This short, less than 5-minute work has remained memorable for well over a century, partly due to the use of the theme for the Alfred Hitchcock Presents TV show. But also, because it is light-hearted, a bit comedic and enjoyable by performers and audiences alike. It is a tongue-in-cheek musical representation of an imaginary event where one could envision the marionet coming to life occasionally! Originally a piano composition (1872), Gounod orchestrated it in 1879. This arrangement maintains the format and identifiable clarinet solo. Grade 3+ Full score is Legal size.
