High Time is a fun piece to play. It's uplifting feeling is optimistic and hopeful. It has a jazz gospel feeling to it reminiscent of Ray Charles and David "Fathead" Newman. Dynamics and phrase markings are purposely limited, allowing the student to develop the thoughtful skills needed to play musically based on the melodic and harmonic contours of the composition. The chord symbols are added for the advanced players enjoyment and teacher accompaniment.
