Cheerful beginning and ending sections of this work are contrasted with a more meditative middle section which may be played with handchimes.  This is an uncomplicated setting which portrays a great deal of joy.  The piece may also be used in Advent with the title On Jordan's Banks the Baptist's Cry or in Epiphany with the title What Star Is This, With Beams So Bright.
