Jerusalem

(JERUSALEM (Parry); NIMROD (Elgar))
arr. Fred Gramann - From the Top Music

The hymn JERUSALEM is sung so extensively in England that it is sometimes referred to as England's second national anthem. The text by William Blake was set to music by Sir Hubert Parry and later orchestrated by Edward Elgar. From that, Fred Gramann conceived the idea of combining Elgar's Nimrod from the "Enigma Variations" with Parry's JERUSALEM in this work for handbells. It is mostly rung with well-placed LV passages, dynamics, and one beautifully crafted key change. Flowing sixteenth notes support the beautiful melodies throughout, and the interplay between the two titles all join to create this uplifting and powerful work – perfect for any worship or concert event.
