Using Shakespeare's text from The Merchant of Venice, this delicate piece for treble choir brims with rhythmic energy. A B-flat clarinet obbligato and sparkling piano accompaniment frame the harmonies, while the mixed meter allows for the text to be set with dramatic effect.
