Do Not. For, I Am...
Trying to find a way to support the families of the victims of a tragic accident, the composer wrote this comforting choral piece. Based on the poem Immortality, also known as Do Not Stand by My Grave and Weep, the first section is a solemn setting of the text. The melancholy mood slowly lightens, and the initial grief is replaced by a more optimistic energy. In a moment of remembrance, the choir reminds us that our lost loved ones can be found everywhere in nature, and we should not cry, for they are not there, they did not die. Written in memory of Brylee Walker and Lindsay Thompkins Jr.
