Santiana
A cappella
Dating back to the 1850s, this lively sea shanty is most likely inspired by the events of the Mexican–American War and combines elements of both contemporary music and Latin American rhythms. Opening with a duet, the arrangement quickly picks up and is accompanied by rocking percussion (timbales and congas). Sung in both English and French, an IPA pronunciation guide is included in the score.
