Holden Evening Prayer was written during the winter of 1985-1986 at Holden Village in the North Cascades of Washington state. To mark the 30th anniversary of its composition, the composer expanded the content of the vespers service by adding several new psalm settings for Advent and Lent. Holden Evening Prayer has been expanded even further by the addition of handbell parts. The introduction to the edition provides plenty of options for using this service with your worshiping community; it can be simple or elaborate, depending on your needs and resources.
