Adoration
Written in 1951, just two years before the composer's death, this slow, meditative piece originally for solo organ reminds the listener of a prelude or offertory piece at church. With a performance time of approximately five minutes, a slow tempo marking, and its ability to be performed almost entirely in first position by all sections, this beautiful work should be in the library of every school orchestra program.
